If two tangents drawn from a point $P$ to the parabola $y^{2}=16(x-3)$ are at right angles, then the locus of point $P$ is :

Solution

Perpendicular tangents meet on the directrix. $y^2=16(x-3)$ has $a=4$, vertex $(3,0)$, directrix $x-3=-4\Rightarrow x=-1$. Locus $x+1=0$. Option (A).
